The population of Budapest is 2,1 million . It is a little but charming city. Its story of ‘Budapest’ begins in 1873 when hilly, residential Buda merged with flat, industrial Pest and little Óbuda to the north to form what was first called Pest-Buda. So the city is founded at the two sides of the river.

By the turn of the century it had already become a place of entertainment popular with all layers of society.    Perhaps the ultimate haven is Margaret Island, a sanctuary of forest, flower beds, manicured lawns and sports facilities in the middle of the Danube.The island is connected to the city by Árpád Bridge which is on the north, and Margaret Bridge on the south . The island is 2.5 km and long, 500 m wide, and it covers 225 acres .There is no building over the island, a huge park is created at the heart of the city.
